GalaxyZoo progress
A while ago I mentioned that GalaxyZoo.org was looking for help classifying 1,000,000 galaxies. Their original goal was to have each of galaxies reviewed by at least one person. Well, in the first three weeks they exceeded their goal ten-fold. However, they aren’t stopping there. Now they’ve updated their goal and are trying to reach 20 reviews per image in order to purify their data. I think this is a worthy project and hope people continue to assist.
I do find it amazing how the internet has changed the way we operate. Need information about something? Chances are you can find it within 5 minutes no matter how obscure. Need to review 1,000,000 photos? Three weeks is all it takes, and you get 10,000,000 reviews in that time. Wow.
